Team METU
Our unit Plant Population Genetics and Evolution in the Department of Biological Sciences of Middle East Technical University (Turkey) is mainly focused on population, conservation and evolutionary genetics of plants ranging from crop to tree species. In the project, our group is taking parts in identification and sampling of study populations (WP1), genetic identification, origins and genetic structures of species (WP2) and genotype x phenotype association analysis using common garden experiments (WP4).
Prof. Dr. Zeki Kaya
Specialized in Forest genetics, population, conservation and evolutionary genetics of plants ranging from crop to tree species as well as arcahaeogenetics of plants.
Role in ACORN: Professor Kaya somewhat involved in all work packages, but mainly in WP2 and WP4 of the project.
